MP Arama drums support for SHA before CS Duale in Nakuru

Nakuru Town West MP Samwel Arama has drummed support for Social Health Authority and new health insurance.

Speaking in Nakuru during a visit by Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale in Nakuru County, MP Arama revealed that the new health insurance scheme was now working.

He added that before, the scheme had challenges and Kenyans including his own constituents were adamant on joining.

According to Arama, his PA John Koech was receiving numerous calls over waiver in hospitals and fundraisers to settle medical bills.

However, with SHA in place things have changed.

The third term serving Lawmaker was however quick to point out that the scheme is now working.

“You know before SHA came into place, we had very many problems even in Constituency with many cases of waiver. But now SHA is working and the cases have reduced,” he stated.

It should be noted that Nakuru County Governor Susan Kihika on Wednesday July 23, 2025 hosted the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Aden Duale during the launch of the Nakuru County Taifa-Care program at Nyayo Gardens in Nakuru City.

Prior to the launch, Duale will paid a courtesy call on Susan Kihika, after which he toured key medical units at the Nakuru Teaching and Referral Hospital.

During the visit, CS Duale also launched the Digital Health Training Program.
