Motion to oust Kindiki tabled in Senate

The  move to replace Senate Deputy Speaker Kithure Kindiki seemed closer after Senate majority whip Irungu Kangata moved a motion to that effect.

While moving the notice of motion,Kang’ata who is also the Muranga county Senator said that,Kindiki violated party rules and regulations among them failing to attend a party meeting convened by the party leader.

The jubilee party accuses Kindiki of failing to give reasons as to why he failed to attend the meeting even after being asked to do so.

The motion is scheduled for debate on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Meru Senator Mithika Linturi has warned President Uhuru Kenyatta that replacing Kindiki as the Deputy Speaker of the Senate will be a serious upfront to the people of Meru who sacrificed their all to vote for him three times.

Already Kindiki has said that he does not fear losing his position as the Senate Deputy Speaker and told those interested in his position that they can as well take it.

The close ally of Deputy President William Ruto will be the latest victim of the President Uhuru led cleanup of the ruling jubilee party.

Other targeted for de-whiping in the Senate include Senators John Kinyua(Laikipia), Mohamed Mahamud (Mandera) and Samson Cherargei (Nandi).

Nominated Senators who missed the Statehouse meeting are also a target for punishment.
