Safaricom Sacco on Saturday March 2, 2024 held its 23rd Annual General Meeting.
Co-operatives Cabinet Secretary Simon Chelugui who graced the event lauded the members for their continued loyalty.
“I wish to also extend my appreciation to the members for continued loyalty and confidence in your cooperative,” he stated.
The CS reminded the members that such a meeting is crucial as is momentous occasion to celebrate achievements and breakthrough of the Sacco’s core business of empowering members.
He added that it is also a significant event that provides members with a good opportunity to evaluate Sacco’s past performance and plan for the ensuing years within a competitive business environment.
The CS reiterated importance of Co-operatives terming them vehicles for mobilization of capital resources for the development of the Country.
He expressed gladness that Safaricom Sacco has over the years lived up to objectives.
This even as the Sacco membership has increased to over 18,000 members by December 2023.
The total assets grew to Ksh. 11.5 billion while member deposits and loans & advances stood at about Ksh 8.3 billion and Ksh 8.1 billion respectively by end of financial year 2023.
