
The Media Council of Kenya has stepped in to address challenges faced by journalists during this COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking when he visited several community Radio stations in Narok county,MCK Programs Manager Victor Bwire said the body is firm in listening to the challenges Journalists are facing during this period.
The officer calling on Journalists to maintain professionalism while dispensing their duties addind that is the only shield.
The officer also commending Journalists for their role on the fight against spread of COVID-19.
“As MCK we shall continue to support Journalists in the capacity we can even as we fight the spread of COVID-19” said Bwire.
Bwire visited various community Radio stations among them Osotua and Sidai where he issued government branded facemasks and sanitizers to Journalists.
The visit to Narok is a continuation of the several visits MCK is making to Community Radio stations to understand the challenges Journalists at grassroot are facing during this COVID-19 pandemic.
Already MCK has visited Tana River County where Journalists were affected by floods.
During the visit,MCK delivered food stuffs and other necessities to various Community Radio stations in the area.
