Nakuru Businessman Maina Wakabura has called on members of the National Assembly to think of the plight of Junior Secondary School(JSS) teachers.
Wakabura who has been dedicating much of his time in charity work in various wards in Nakuru Town East Constituency, says this is the time that Lawmakers should think about the welfare of learners.
As Members of the National Assembly back from recess, they should consider the same in the budgetary allocations.
“It’s my prayer through the 2024 Division of Revenue Bill, Supplementary Estimates II, the 2024/2025 Budget Estimates, and Finance Bill, Members of Parliament are going to consider the plight of JSS teachers and our Pupils in schools through supportive budgets,” he stated.
According to Wakabura, supportive budgets in education are essential for creating an environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, laying the foundation for a prosperous and equitable society.
He also called on the lawmakers through the Parliamentary Education Committee to ensure that the quality of education is enhanced, the purchase of essential resources and materials is done, maintenance of school infrastructure, and teacher development initiatives are supported.
