Luhya Community political leadership in Nakuru tell off critics

Luhya Community Political leadership in Nakuru has told off critics against interfering with internal matters of the community.

The leaders Peter Palang’a of Ol-karia Ward and Neto Sakwa of Kivumbini Ward said they have agenda to unite the Mulembe Nation in Nakuru.

Speaking during a meeting held at Mazembe Grounds on June 1, 2024, the leaders vowed to ensure that the community is united.

According to them, this will enable the Mulembe Nation in Nakuru reap big.

Meanwhile, MCA Sakwa told off those spearheading propaganda against the Mulembe Nation political leaders in Nakuru.

He noted that some individuals were out to create scenarios purporting that they (Palang’a and Sakwa) are against Governor Susan Kihika.

Sakwa was categorical that they have good relationship with Governor Kihika and that they will continue to work towards ensuring the Mulembe Nation in Nakuru are getting their shares in Government of the day.

According to Sakwa, no single propaganda will derail their agenda of uniting members of the Mulembe Nation.

“We are working towards uniting our people and this should not be seen as a threat to anyone. Our agenda is to see how our people can benefit,” he stated.

Sentiments echoed by MCA Palang’a who added that the journey of ensuring that Luhya Community voice in Nakuru is heard has commenced.

He urged all Luhya Community members to come out in large numbers and support the agenda of uniting members.

Palang’a told off propagandists who have been tainting his image that he has interests in Nakuru West.

He was categorical that the meeting held at Mazembe was as a result of many members of Mulembe Nation living in the area.

“We only have one agenda, that of uniting our people so that we can speak in one voice that can be heard on other levels of leadership in Nakuru,” he said.

During the meeting, the leaders vowed to work to ensuring that the number of elected Luhya MCAs in Nakuru doubles from the current 3 to 7 come 2027 as well as have one or two MPs in the National Assembly from Nakuru County.

They added that they will also push to have more appointments from the Mulembe community should in the Nakuru County henceforth.

Similar meetings shall be held in all the 11 sub-counties of Nakuru.

The Mazembe meeting was also attended by Nakuru County CECM for Sports Josephine Atieno who comes from Nakuru West Sub county.
