Leaders restore calm in Njoro after cattle rustling incident

Peace has been restored in Lusilu village Ndeffo area Kihongo ward in Njoro Sub County Nakuru after a security meeting convened by Njoro DCC, DCI, Mp and area MCAs resolved at focusing on countering cattle rustlers who killed 85 years old Muchiri Ng’ang’a

The meeting came after a series of event where Njoro MP Charity Kathambi found herself on the receiving end being accused of frustrating the locals by failing to address issues of insecurity where lives have been lost in the past in a similar manner without credible steps being taken

The push and pull was however calmed by Kihingo MCA George Kiere and his Lare ward Counterpart Phillip Wanjohi who have both called for peaceful co-existence among communities living in the area until investigations are done and culprits brought to book

However locals have accused the administration over its failure in intelligence saying that incidents have been happening and nothing has so far been done

The early morning incident had charged tribal animosity where Njoro Mp has appealed to locals to get back to their normal living instead of propagating hatred that might lead to massive bloodshed

Last year there were deaths in the area after two rivals communities attacked each other over cattle theft.
