It was joyous moment at Laikipia Air Base Primary School as best performers in the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education were awarded.
The ceremony was presided over by Base Commander Laikipia Air Base (LAB), Brigadier Mohamud Farah.
Laikipia Airbase Primary School is a Public Primary School, located in Central Laikipia near Nanyuki Town, Laikipia East Constituency in Laikipia County.
Base Commander noted that the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) remains steadfast in supporting education with a view of making KDF schools, centres of excellence.
During the event, Brig. Farah received a comprehensive brief of the status of the school from the school head mistress Mrs Loise Simam.
The two discussed ways in which LAB could support the school in order to further improve the performance.
Mrs. Simam thanked the KDF for it’s constant support to LAB primary school and KDF schools fraternity as a whole.
The commander pledged support to the school and shared his pride at the school’s good performance.
“I am impressed with this year’s KCPE performance and glad that LAB Primary School was leading in all KDF sponsored schools with a mean of 360 marks, and also led in the number of students who scored 400 marks and above,” He added.
A total of twelve (12) students scored above 400 marks with the leading student scoring 417 marks.
Tracy Wangari, who was the best performing student scoring 417 marks, thanked the teachers and her parents for the support through the eight years (8) of primary education.
The best performing students were awarded with shopping vouchers as they report to their various high schools later in the month.
Brig. Farah also delivered a congratulatory cheque worth 200,000 shillings to the school from the Defence Headquarters.
