Kuresoi North MP Alfred Mutai on Monday May 26, 2025 officially launched bursary worth 60 million shillings.
The Lawmaker revealed that the funds will benefit among others University students(2000) which is a plus from previous financial year when only 1500 benefited.
Speaking during the launch, MP Mutai attributed the huge number of University students beneficiaries to a clear indication that Kuresoi North Sub county is improving in matters university education.
He lauded the school heads for the support towards the same.
“I want to laud the Principals of this sub county for the good support. We will work together to boost matters education in this Constituency,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Colleges, KMTC and TTIs including Total TTI will also benefit.
According to MP Mutai, in 2022, Total TTI had 27 students but now has 1127 students.
He attributed this high enrollment to good working relationship with stakeholders.
“With launch of these bursary, I can attest that the leading institution benefiting is Total TTI. Not all our students are able to enroll at universities, but we have option to help out TTIs in Kuresoi North,” he said.
The Legislator also used the moment to rally youth to embrace Technical Training Institutions.
Secondary schools will also benefit from the bursary with Dayschools within the Constituency taking the Lion’s share.
During the event, the MP also launched Driving courses for youth with 5 million shillings for this financial year and another 5 million for next year.
He also launched disbursement of Uwezo Fund that has so far benefited 41 groups.
The Lawmaker urged youth to join groups inorder to benefit from the funds adding that Government funds help groups more than individual.
On NG-CDF entrenchment in Constitution, he stated that as MPs, they are trying to ensure the law is adhered to so that NG-CDF can continue on development agenda in schools, TTIs and even the infrastructure.
The Lawmaker told off his competitors calling on them to put on heavy shock observers as the terrain towards 2027 will not be easy for them, owing to his development agenda and record.
He revealed that his agenda for constituents is well spelt out for the the remaining part of his first term and the second term before he can decide whether to venture into gubernatorial race or be appointed to National as Cabinet Secretary.
The MP defended the government deductions on the civil servants payslips on matters SHA, Affordable Housing, adding that it’s a move that Bottom up economy system wants to ensure that even the least in society are empowered.
He called on residents to persevere adding that the economy might not be satisfactory at the moment but it is just a matter of time before everything comes to normal under Kenya Kwanza Government.
