Kinyanjui mourns Nakuru ODM Chairman Peter Ole Sono

Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has joined Nakuru residents in mourning the death of ODM Nakuru Branch chairman Peter Ole Sono.

In his message of condolence, Kinyanjui termed the deceased an accomplished community mobiliser with a strong passion for community rights and cultural preservation.

“It is with profound sadness that we have received news of the demise of Mzee Peter Ole Sono from Kongasis. Mzee was an accomplished community mobiliser with a strong passion for community rights and cultural preservation” stated Kinyanjui.

Kinyanjui added that the late Ole Sono’s interest in politics was from the heart, and driven by deep convictions that would not waver even in extreme circumstances.

“As ODM chairman in Nakuru, he was the sober voice that earned respect beyond his party.We join family and friends in saluting this great son of Nakuru.  Our condolences to the family and may his soul rest in God’s everlasting peace” he said.

The news of Ole Sono’s death was made public in various Nakuru Whatsapp grups on Tuesday morning leaving many in shock.

Ole Sono was last seen in public during campaigns for London Ward By-elections where he declared that ODM had pulled out of the race to support Jubilee Candidate Francis Njoroge.

This,he said was in line with the spirit of handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

However, Anthony Nzuki Wachira of new political formation UDA won the seat.
