Kihika: Watu ya Magazeti, Nakuru is not in opposition, get your facts rights

Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has told off Journalists in Nakuru over what she termed misinformation.

Addressing residents in Nakuru Town during a visit by President William Ruto on Friday November 28, 2025, Kihika faulted Journalists for labeling Nakuru as an opposition County.

According to Kihika, Nakuru County is in full support of President William. Ruto’s development agenda.

While referring to Journalists as ‘Watu WA Magazeti’, Kihika urged them to adhere to the code of ethics and ensure factual reporting.

She revealed that a section of journalists had published a story indicating that Nakuru was in opposition, which according to Kihika is misinformation.

The Governor also used the moment to laud President William Ruto for the support towards completion of key projects in Nakuru:Afraha and Olenguruone stadium as well as Trauma Centre at Nakuru Level 5 hospital.

She reiterated that with such key developments being realized besides the affordable housing projects in various sub counties, Nakuru remains I support of President William Ruto’s administration.

Sentiments echoed by Nakuru Town East Lawmaker David Gikaria and his Bahati counterpart Irene Njoki.

The duo called on residents to support the development agenda under the Kenya Kwanza Administration.

It should be noted that President William Ruto was in Nakuru to launch the construction of Rironi-Mau Summit Highway.

Speaking during the event, President Ruto noted that this is just one of the projects that are aimed at improving the traffic that has been witnessed for many years.

He added that he has lobbied for the expansion of more roads in Nakuru and across the country.

Ruto at the same time told off the naysayers, urging them to come up with clear development agenda they have for Kenyans.

He revisited the recently concluded by elections calling on the opposition to have a political lesson from the same.

According to President Ruto, the opposition has no clear agenda for Kenyans.
