Kihika to upgrade Nakuru Prison Dispensary to Health Centre

Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has announced that her administration will upgrade Nakuru Prison Dispensary to Health Centre.

She made the announcement when together with MPs Hon Samuel Arama (NTW) and Hon David Gikaria (NTE) and area MCA Gatuso, visited Nakuru Main Prison to spread festive joy and cheer among the Prison Officers and their families.

The facility upon upgrade will now have maternity wing and laboratory services.

Kihika used the moment to also wish the staff a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

“We will upgrade the dispensary into a health centre complete with a maternity wing , laboratory Services and provide a dental chair,” she said.

Governor Kihika also committed to grade the Prison Road early January 2026 in advance.

The event was also graced by Prison Officer In Charge Commissioner Gerald Gichunge, Nakuru Women Prison Officer In Charge Commissioner Sylvia Ngeiywa, and Sports Chief Officer Francis Njoroge.
