Kihika lauds President Ruto for subsidizing fertilizer to towards benefiting farmers

Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has lauded President William Ruto for subsidizing fertilizer for farmers.

Speaking in Kuresoi North, Kihika pointed out that the move has seen many farmers benefit.

She revealed that in Kuresoi North, a total 8,000 bags of subsidized fertilizer has been purchased by farmers.

“On agriculture, I sincerely thank you, Mr. President, for subsidizing fertilizer from KSh 7,000 to KSh 2,500 per bag. In Kuresoi North alone, farmers have purchased over 8,000 bags through the Last Mile Mashinani program,” she stated.

She added that her administration has distributed 19,000 avocado seedlings for nutritional and value addition purposes, and over 2 million pyrethrum seedlings, terming it one of her flagship projects given its guaranteed returns and stable market prices.

On livestock, Kihika stated that her administration has vaccinated more than 28,000 animals.

She also used the moment to express her gratitude to President Ruto for providing  two milk coolers that will greatly boost dairy farmers.
