Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has lauded Building Resilient and Responsive Health Systems (BREHS) Project.

Her sentiments come after she on Wednesday March 4, 2026 joined fellow Governors and the Cabinet Secretary for Health Aden Duale during the signing of the Inter-Party Agreement (IPA) for the same.
It should be noted that this is a World Bank-supported programme.
It will be jointly implemented by the Ministry of Health and the County Governments.

Kihika noted that the Project is key on matters primary healthcare.
It aims to strengthen primary healthcare by focusing on two vital areas: maintaining the systems that keep primary health facilities operational and enhancing the quality of care at the frontline.
Programming will include the availability of essential medicines and technologies at primary facilities, stronger community health services, and targeted support for healthcare workers to improve maternal, newborn, and nutrition care, as well as antenatal and postnatal care.
“The agreement reinforces our ongoing commitment to strengthening primary healthcare and ensuring more residents can access reliable, quality services, an essential foundation for Universal Health Coverage (UHC),” stated Kihika.
