Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has reiterated that she chose to complete all stalled projects from previous regimes to save taxpayer’s money.
The Governor spoke on Thursday November 13, 2025 during the handing over of two major projects to Kenya Defence Forces for completion.
The Projects are the Nakuru Trauma Centre that had stalled since commencement during former President MWAI Kibaki tenure in 2012 and the Afraha Stadium that had also stalled since the previous regime.
Kihika who accompanied Defence CS Soipan Tuya during the event pointed out that had she left the projects to remain stalled, then taxpayer’s money would have gone to waste.
She added that the value the projects have for the people of Nakuru is what prompted her to make a request to President William Ruto to aid the county in terms of funds towards completion.
Governor Kihika while lauding the President and the KDF for the support towards the same, also revealed that already Olenguruone stadium works is on.
She called on Nakuru residents to continue supporting her agenda and that of President William Ruto on matters development.
According to Kihika, politics of division and propaganda have no room and should never be allowed to mess up development agenda.
Kihika also used the moment to drum support for her re-election, as well as that of President William Ruto for second term come 2027.
This, she said will help ensure continued development in Nakuru and the nation at large.
On her part, CS Tuya lauded Kihika terming her visionary leader who values the people of Nakuru.
The CS assured residents that KDF will ensure timely completion of the projects.
