Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika is among leaders whom President William Ruto has confered with Elder of the Order of Golden Heart(EGH) during this year’s Jamhuri Day celebrations.
This is follows her recognition of distinguished and outstanding services.
The services include those rendered to the nation in various capacities.
This comes barely days after Kihika launched the Universal Health program in Nakuru to complement the National Government’s agenda, where she fulfilled her promise she made to Community Health Promoters on their stipend.
Governor Kihika has been on the forefront in spearheading the Kenya Kwanza agenda on matters development in Nakuru.
When she assumed office, she vowed not to start new projects until those that had stalled from the previous regime are completed.
The iron lady as she is always referredto among Nakurians, began her political career becoming the first speaker of Nakuru County Assembly at inception of devolution.
She later successfully contested Nakuru County senatorial seat in 2017 on Jubilee Party ticket.
In 2022 she successfully captured Nakuru gubernatorial seat on United Democratic Alliance UDA party ticket whose party leader is the current President William Ruto.
Other leaders who have been conferred with Elder of the Order of Golden Heart(EGH) include Governors Wavinya Ndeti(Machakos), Cecily Mbarire(Embu) and Gladys Wanga(Homabay).
