A total of 2000 units of Affordable Social Housing will be constructed in Gilgil sub county of Nakuru County.
Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has revealed the same.
Speaking at Gilgil Level 4 Hospital during a public participation which is a constitutional requirement, Kihika lauded the project terming it a great benefit to the people socio-economically.
She added that this will also transform Gilgil town in two years to come.
“This is a project that will greatly transform this area in terms of economy once complete,” she said.
Students undertaking training at Gilgil Kenya Medical Training College will also benefit as they will have hostels for accommodation.
The established Gilgil KMTC shall soon be launched.
The Affordable Social Housing Project also gives room for the refurbishment of drainage system in Gilgil besides improvement of other infrastructure.
It should be noted that the Gilgil Affordable Social Housing Project that will soon be launched comes third after a similar project in Bondeni in Nakuru East Sub county and another one ongoing in Bahati sub county.
A similar project in Elburgon in Molo sub county is also set to commence.
