Njoro Opinion leader Benjamin Kibet Kirui has launched the Njoro Youth Dialogue Football Peace Tournament.
This is an initiative towards empowerment and ensuring peace among young people in Njoro Constituency.
Commonly known as ‘The Lakwet’, Kibet who graced the event as Chief Guest assured the young people of his support.

In his speech during the launch, the youthful leader noted that drugs and substance abuse has continued to kill dreams among young people.
He was however quick to point out that through the Njoro Youth Dialogue Football Tournament, the young people will be sensitized on various aspects and life skills.
Kibet added that this is not just a tournament, as it will also incorporate various aspects of mentorship.
“Through this initiative, we aim to empower our young people. We will be talking to them to ensure that they don’t engage in harmful activities, but engage in constructive activities that can shape their lives,” he stated.
While noting that the initiative is not political, Kibet urged young people to also embrace peace ahead of 2027 general polls.
According to him, there is no need for youth to engage in violence and destroy property because of politics, adding that politics come and go, but Kenyans remain as brothers and sisters.
He reiterated the need for young people to remain united and focused.
“Uniting the youth through football, dialogue, and peace building. Let’s come together, celebrate talent, and promote unity in our community,” he stated.
It should be noted that the finals of the tournament will be held in December where winners will make a way with several goodies and monetary awards.
