Kenyan Government key on world projects

Water, Sanitation and Irrigation CS Zachariah Mwangi Njeru Currently in Bujumbura, Burundi for the Strategic Dialogue between Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) Governance and Development Partners.

The strategic dialogue seeks to evaluate and appraise the cordial relations the regional body has had with Development partners for the past 25 years.

Delegates were updated on the NBI program work, investment projects, and financial situation.

CS underscored the need of Development Partners supporting various key strategic projects that have lagged behind due to lack of financing.

It’s high time we take these investments to the implementation stage.

A case in point for Kenya and Uganda, is the shared Angololo Multi-purpose Water Project that is ready for implementation.

When completed, the project will have significant impact the communities within the project area, in terms of enhanced agriculture through irrigation, water supply, Hydro people tools.
