Bahati Member of Parliament Irene Njoki has sounded a stern warning to politicians that no political rallies will be held in schools playing grounds.
She stated that the playgrounds in schools within Bahati Constituency will only be used for sports and talents growth.
Addressing journalists on Friday February 20, 2026 when she commissioned modern classrooms at St. Lwanga Comprehensive School in Bahati, the Lawmaker was categorical that schools cannot be used as grounds for political battles.
While pointing out that she shall work to ensure schools have good playing grounds for sports that can also be used by communities around schools, she was quick to state that this does not open avenue for politics in schools.
She said this is in line with government directive through Ministry of Education.
“The grounds in schools will be used for football as a sport and not for politics. So those who think they are entitled to come politick in schools, let them be warned I will not allow that in our schools in Bahati,” she stated.
She vowed that she will not allow her efforts and those of government to improve education standards in the area to be brought down by politicians.
