Ms Anne Njeri Karigu, popularly known as Karigu Keru has finally landed a job at the Office of the Deputy President.
The young Karigu Keru had vied for the Nakuru County Women rep position but lost to Liza Chelule in the Jubilee Party Primaries. The ever-smiling Karigu Keeru rode on the goodwill of the youth who had tremendously supported her.
After losing in the party primaries, she had remained loyal to the Jubilee party and supported the party in the campaigns to the end. Although a newcomer into the political scene, Karigu Keru has managed to endear herself to the party politicos and the elected leaders.
In a bid to remain relevant in the political scene, Karigu Keru has never missed any of the Deputy President’s meeting in Nakuru County. She has always made sure to remain visible and religiously makes her contribution in any fundraiser presided over by Deputy President William Ruto.
Her loyalty to the party and the Deputy President has finally paid off with the appointment.
During a church service and fundraiser at St. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Lanet, the Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria had jokingly told the Deputy President to get Karigu Keeru a job. The Deputy President did not disappoint and as he was receiving her contribution, had announced the job.
“Mama Karigu Keeru ametoa elfu tano. …… na huyu msichana sasa ako kazi katika ofisi ya Deputy President,” the DP had pronounced.
Congratulatory messages to Karigu Keru started pouring in on social media as friends and supporters applauded her appointment.
“Sasa nimeamini hii nyumba ya Jubilee ni kubwa vile rais alisema,” (I now believe the Jubilee (party) house is as big as the president had said), said a former ward aspirant who lost in the party primaries still hopeful that his turn for appointment would also come.
