The independence Party KANU has endorsed former Baringo Senator Gideon Moi as flag bearer in the forthcoming by-elections for the Baringo Senatorial seat.
In a statement to Newsrooms in Thursday October 2, 2025 the party maintained that it had settled for Gideon Moi.
The statement undersigned by KANU Director of Communication Manasse Nyainda, indicates that The Kenya African National Union (KANU), following extensive consultations, deliberations, and consensus within the party and with the people of Baringo, the National Chairman, Hon. Gideon Moi, has been nominated as the party’s candidate for the forthcoming Baringo Senatorial by-election.
“This decision underscores the party’s unwavering commitment to offering experienced, visionary, and people-centered leadership at a critical juncture for Baringo County and the nation at large,” the Party indicated.
According to the Party, in accepting this call to serve, Moi has expressed profound gratitude to KANU members, supporters, and the people of Baringo for their patience, confidence, and steadfast support.
The Party added that Moi remains committed to running a people-driven campaign anchored on inclusivity, accountability, and service to all.
“Therefore, as a party, we are confident that Hon. Gideon Moi’s candidature will resonate widely with the electorate,” read part of the statement.
The Party has called on supporters across Baringo County and the country at large to rally behind their Chairman Gideon Moi as the Party embark on this crucial journey.
Political pundits argue the race will be between KANU and UDA.
