Kabarnet Museum Manager Lilian Amwanda has scooped International Award for her conservation efforts.
The curator won the UK-based Heritage Conservation in Action prize at the 2024 Marsh Conservation Awards.
Her outstanding work on the Pokot restoration project has made a significant impact on her local community.
The award will be presented on 2nd July during this year’s Icon24 conference at the Royal Geographical Society in South Kensington, United Kingdom.
Before moving to Kabarnet Museum, Lilian served as Curator Hyrax Hill Museum-Nakuru where she also did exemplary work.
The former student of Nyamonye Girls in Siaya county is also a graduate in matters Gender and Development from Egerton University.
She believes in community work and initiatives aimed at making society a better place for all.

According to Lilian, The award may be on her name but the project was collective effort and dedication of the Entire team at Kabarnet Museums.
