Kivumbini’s young football team AC Manyani on Sunday organized a special lunch in honor of their members who performed well in 2020 KCPE.
Quite a number scored 300 marks and above in the KCPE 2020 results that were released last week by Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha.
Speaking to this writer,AC Manyani coach Paul Karori revealed that their best team member scored 379 marks.
Two others scored 333 and 318 respectively.
He added that as coaches the decided to organize lunch to motivate them.
“Our members who sat KCPE 2020 did very well.We decided to have a small party to motivate them and those in lower classes” said Karori.
He called on well wishers to step in and help nurture the young talents.
Sentiments echoed by Job Okumu.
According to Okumu,what the young people need is motivation.
“We did this to motivate our members but also to show our people in the community that whatever we do in the field is not in vain” said Okumu.
Nelson Aluta,Bernard Lusiola and James Awoti who sat 2020 KCPE have made AC Manyani proud.
The trio vowed to work even harder.
“We are very happy for this gesture shown by our coaches” they said.
Ms Anne Lipuku from the ladies team called on youths to embrace talents nurturing.
According to her,sports can transform many youths.
“I love football and would urge all girls to join and help nurture talents” she said.
