Led by their Chairperson Mr. Rushdie Oudia, the Journalista traded pens for pints at Jaramogi Referral Hospital on this special Day.

The team also planted trees at the facility to demonstrate the importance of environment conservation.

Speaking during the event, Oudia pointed out that Journalists are often the first at scenes of accidents or tragedy—but on this special day, they chose to be more than first responders, they chose to save lives.

Oudia also used the moment to remind his colleagues that the forthcoming election period will flood their spaces with misinformation, disinformation, and
propaganda.

“Let us resist the pressure to be first at the expense of being right. Better late and
accurate than fast and wrong. Every story we publish must inform—not inflame,” he stated.

The event was also made success through partnership with tne Media Council of Kenya, Kenya Correspondents Association and Kenya Forest Service.
