Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has announced immediate closure of John Momanyi Road in Shaabab.
This follows an incident in which a section of the Road caved in.
According to experts,this.mogjt have been occasioned by the fact that the road rests on a faultline which might have been weakened due to the ongoing heavy rains.
Kinyanjui made the announcement on Tuesday when he visited the area.
He was accompanied by his Deputy Dr.Erick Korir who is also the acting CECM for Roads and transport,and a team of experts from GDC.
“This road will remain closed to avert further activities even as experts continue with their work” he said.
Kinyanjui called on locals to be cautious especially during this rainy season.
A team of experts from GDC,Kengen in collaboration with the county government of Nakuru are doing a study to determine the extent of the faultlines in Nakuru before further decision is taken.
