IEBC assures of quality electoral service delivery in forthcoming by-elections

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) has assured of quality electoral service delivery in the forthcoming by-elections across the country.

The Commission is currently training Trainers of Trainers (ToTs) in preparation for the by-elections scheduled for 27 November 2025.

Opening the training on behalf of the Chairperson, the Vice Chairperson Fahima Araphat Abdallah, encouraged participants to continue with the same spirit and zeal of ensuring the delivery of free, fair and credible elections in the country.

“This will not only enhance public trust, but also strengthen Kenya’s democracy,” she stated.

Further, she urged poll officials to ensure all activities are guided by the rule of law and to involve stakeholders in the relevant activities to ensure a seamless electoral process.

Commissioner Ann Nderitu, Chairperson of Electoral Operations Committee, requested the participants to be committed during the training as their engagement would automatically affect how the upcoming by elections are conducted and perceived by the public.

Speaking also at event, the Commission Secretary/CEO Marjan Hussein Marjan observed that training of poll officials remains a central pillar of quality in electoral service delivery.

He also noted that during the training, attention would be given to operational preparedness; pre-polling, polling and post polling activities; polling procedures, use of electronic voter identification, result management and adherence to legal and regulatory frameworks.
