How Nakuru’s Lindah Kageha managed to get Majority Leader seat in the newly inaugurated South Rift Regional Youth Bunge

Linda Kageha is not a new name to Nakuru residents due to her outstanding and resilience in fighting fo the rights and interests of young people in Nakuru County.

Her resilience is what drives her and has seen her hold position even in the Kenya National Chamber, as well the Nakuru County Enterprise Fund, all meant to boost businesses.

In the just concluded inaugural of South Rift Regional Kenya Young Members of County Assemblies Youth Bunge in Nakuru County that brought together youthful delegates from over 5 counties, Linda Kageha participated.

She was fronted for the position of Speaker but was outshined by Stephen Lino from Samburu County.

Lino garnered 20 votes out of the 25 cast vote and was declared winner.

As a leader who believes that there is always next time in any contest, Lindah Kageha conceded and came back to the chamber with a smile of hope on her face.

She continued to participate in the other slots for election, not as a candidate but as a delegate.

However, her moment of triumph came when the KYMCA CEO Chris Mark made announcement that he was quite aware that Nakuru County had lost the speaker position despite being a good host County.

It is at this moment that the CEO made it clear that he has some powers and privileges to create a position especially in some circumstances.

He announced the position of Majority Leader stating that Linda Kageha would be in charge of the seat.

“In some circumstances, as the CEO I have powers and previlleges to create a position. It is in this line that having considered Nakuru as the best host we have had, I hereby create a position of Majority Leader and that Lindah Kageha from Nakuru will hold the position,” he stated.

On her part Lindah thanked the KYMCA CEO for considering Nakuru.

KYMCA regional coordinator for Nakuru Nominated MCA Hassan Duale congratulated Lindah Kageha for resilience and loyalty.

Duale challenged young people in Nakuru and nation at large to maintain especially in matters politics.

“Loyalty is key in politics and that is what has seen Linda Kageha earn the position,’ stated Duale.

It should be noted that Nakuru County also got slots in Youth and Gender as well as Health where Elizabeth Wanjiku and Gaitho will chair the dockets respectively.

Abdulrizak Ali from Nakuru county will also serve as Vice Chair Trade docket.
