Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has demonstrated true leadership.
When she was on maternity leave, her critics took to social media with all types of criticisms.
However, the Governor did not bow to critics, maintaining that while she was away, there was no leadership gap as her deputy David Kones was in charge.
When she came back from the maternity leave, Governor Kihika seemed to understand what was awaiting her.
Contrary to what many in the African setting would expect that a mother who recently delivered would take a rest, Governor Kihika came back with so much synergies for work.
Her first duty was to hold meeting with her cabinet in what political pundits argue was to put things in order.
After the meeting, Kihika also held several meetings with other departments heads and stakeholders with key focus on service delivery to the people of Nakuru County.
Despite the roles of a mother that she has to face, she has always taken that strength of a woman and balanced the two roles of mother of twins as well as mother and leader of Nakuru county.
Her approach since she left USA has left opponents wondering how to criticize her.
Kihika has made it clear to both opponents and supporters that her agenda is to see a transformed Nakuru choosing to keep off unnecessary exchange of words with competitors.
She has chosen to speak through development agenda.
Recently, Governor Kihika launched the Wezesha Biashara Fund that aims to boost businesses.
She has also maintained her stand on improving the healthcare services through upgrade and equipping of health facilities at sub county facilities.
Kihika believes a time for politics will come in 2027, adding that her focus currently is on service delivery.
This was also revealed by County Secretary Dr Samuel Mwaura and CECMs during breakfast live interview with NTV and Nation FM from Nakuru.
The leaders reiterated Governor Susan Kihika’s agenda in transforming Nakuru.
