Speaking when he toured the area, Wakili Ndumia pointed out that electoral violence forms the darkest blot of Nationhood.

He added that many lives were lost, and many displaced.

While noting that this has been a subject of many legal/ social science studies, Wakili Ndumia revealed that his wife Alice Githinji Ndumia did a dissertation on the subject at her undergraduate studies.

He further revealed that he was personally affected by the skirmishes with their family  home in Racecourse becoming a home for almost 10 families that had been displaced from various affected towns/villages.

“So we always have had a burden to visit New Canaan. Not just for historical_political reasons, but to fellowship with the residents of New Canaan on the far they have come as a people. Their resilience. They undashed and unwavering hopes and expectations for a better tomorrow – captured by the change of name of the location from IDP to New Canaan,” he stated.

During the meeting, Wakili Ndumia shared his agenda as he discussed on many leadership failures of the past and what he intend to offer them, if elected.

According to Wakili Ndumia, the families have been forgotten for many years.

“They have been a forgotten lot in NTE. Only remembered by our political class when they need their votes. We will change this narrative though by God’s grace. We are for an ever present leadership that will be felt by all residents of NTE equally at all times,” he said.

The residents have vowed to journey with Wakili Ndumia towards 2027 polls.

Wakili Ndumia who has people at heart also used the moment to continue with acts of charity.

He told off the naysayers, adding that they have no transformation agenda for the people.

“For we genuinely care. And this is what will set us apart from all the pretenders to this seat. We genuinely feel and care for the plight of our people. And we will keep on helping and empathizing with their suffering the much we may- undeterred by the mockery by those who have nothing to offer our people but cheap talk,” he said.
