The Hindu Council Nakuru Chapter has demonstrated a great gesture by making donation to the families affected by rising Lake Naivasha water in Kihoto.
Through the Council Chair Mr. Sailesh Seth, the donation that included food and bon food items were handed over to the County Government of Nakuru.
The Chief Officer for External Resource Mobilization, Dr. Achoka Victor Mwandale received the donation.
Earlier on Dr. Achoka had held a consultative meeting with the Chairman of the Hindu Council Nakuru Chapter Mr. Sailesh Seth, to discuss the ongoing environmental tragedy in Kihoto, Naivasha.
It should be noted that the rising water levels in the area have displaced thousands of residents, creating a severe humanitarian situation that requires coordinated and sustained intervention.
During the meeting, Dr. Achoka Mwandale acknowledged the urgent needs on the ground and highlighted the County Government’s ongoing efforts together with partners to alleviate suffering, support affected families, and pursue a long-term, sustainable solution to the crisis.
The Hindu Council, through Mr. Shailesh Sheth graciously offered support from the community, demonstrating an inspiring spirit of humanity and solidarity at a time when residents need it most.
Their willingness to stand with the people of Kihoto reflects the shared values of compassion and service that bind Nakuru’s diverse communities together.
In addition, other partners including the Kenya Red Cross, local churches, and community-based organizations in Naivasha are working tirelessly on the frontlines to provide relief, shelter, food supplies, and psychosocial support.
Dr. Achoka Mwandale reaffirmed the County Government’s commitment to strengthening these partnerships to ensure that every affected family receives the help they need and that meaningful steps are taken toward restoring normalcy.
Nakuru County expresses deep gratitude to all partners who continue to stand with the people of Kihoto. Together, we will overcome.
