Governor Kihika’s move that will help decongest Nakuru Level 5 Hospital

Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika is a leader who lives by her word.

When she was sworn in, she vowed to ensure better healthcare services.

Kihika understood that a better healthcare, means a better human resource and a healthy county.

True to her word, Kihika has continued to ensure just that through various initiatives.

Despite naysayers coming up with several propaganda and narratives meant to taint the county healthcare system, the truth is healthcare in Nakuru County is stable, and and cannot be compared to before.

Governor Kihika’s administration acknowledges the high patient influx at the Nakuru County Referral Hospital, that has led to patients having to share beds.

This is attributed to the fact that this is referral facility serving not only Nakuru County but also neighboring counties.

In addition, there is the strong preference by mothers to deliver at the Mother and Baby Wing within the facility.

This has led to the current situation where the facility continues to manage a heavy workload.

The County Government continues to appeal to expectant mothers to also utilize the well-equipped lower-level facilities, which have the capacity to conduct safe deliveries.

The Mother and Baby Wing remains the safest and most advanced maternity facility in Nakuru County and one of the best in Kenya serving mothers from more than six counties across the region.

It should be noted that Governor Susan Kihika has a plan to ensure a Level 4 facility in all the subcounties of Nakuru.

According to Kihika, this will help decongest NCRTH, enhance quality of care, and ensure timely services for mothers and babies across the county.
