Governor Kihika empowerment program targets vulnerable groups in Kuresoi South

Several groups of women, youth and Persons with Disabilities(PWDs) in Kuresoi South got economic boost on Friday May 8, 2026 through Governor Susan Kihika’s empowerment program.

The groups benefited from Sh 11.5 million that was distributed.

The Kihika-led empowerment program aims to boost the economic stamina of groups through income-generating activities.

It is an event that attracted various government-allied leaders led by Kapsaret MP Hon Oscar Sudi and First Gentleman Sam Mburu.

Speaking during the event, the leaders urged residents to embrace empowerment initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods at the grassroots.

Governor Kihika used the moment to assure residents that her administration will continue uplifting vulnerable groups through economic empowerment programmes and development projects targeting agriculture and household incomes.

She highlighted ongoing interventions in the region including the construction of tea buying centres, last-mile distribution of subsidised fertiliser, provision of subsidised artificial insemination services, and distribution of pyrethrum and avocado seedlings, sunflower seeds and milk coolers to farmers.

The event was also graced by Deputy Governor David Kones, CECMs Zipporah Wambui, Stephen Kuria and Leonard Bor, Chief Officers Francis Njoroge, Ken Mugo and Gladys Kamuren, Political Director Joseph Ruto and MCAs led by area MCA Robert Langat.
