Governor Kihika, CS Tuya finalize technical preparations towards three major projects in Nakuru

All is set for the completion of three major projects in Nakuru courtesy of collaboration between Kenya Defence Forces and County Government of Nakuru.

The projects are completion of two stadia and Trauma Centre at Nakuru Teaching and Referral Hospital.

On Thursday, Governor Kihika held a fruitful meeting with Defence Cabinet Secretary, Soipan Tuya at Defence Headquarters in Nairobi.

According to Kihika, the meeting saw the finalization of technical preparations for the collaboration with the KDF on completing the projects.

During the meeting, Kihika commended both the KDF and County teams for the designs and scope of works for the completion of Afraha Stadium, the Trauma Centre, and the construction of Olenguruone Stadium.

According to Kihika, the completion of the two stadia and the Trauma Centre is in line with her manifesto to  improve sports infrastructure and deliver a state-of-the-art Trauma Centre.

“We are now set for the groundbreaking functions for the three projects this month,” she said.

Governor Kihika also used the moment to  thank President William Ruto for directing the KDF to work with her administration in transforming sports infrastructure and delivering the much-needed Trauma Centre at NCTRH.

The meeting was also attended Defence Principal Secretary Dr Patrick Mariru, Chief of Staff Peter Ketyenya, Health CEC Roselyne Mungai, and Chief Officers Francis Njoroge, Gladys Kamuren, and City Manager Gitau Thabanja.
