Governor Kihika calls on Journalists to remain objective when reporting on health matters

Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has called on practicing Journalists in Nakuru County to remain objective when reporting on health matters.

Reacting to a recent media publication on Nakuru County teaching and Referral Hospital, Kihika termed the publication as misleading.

She urged Journalists to report on health matters with depth and objectivity.

She emphasized that health matters should.not be politicized in anyway.

According to Kihika, Journalists should avoid rumours and engage in in-depth coverage of initiatives like the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) and Social Health Authority.

In doing so, she pointed out that it will promote an informed public and ensure accountability.

Kihika added that propaganda should be avoided and focus be on promoting informed Citizenry.

This, she said will help provide the public with the information needed to understand and participate in health initiatives.

The Governor spoke in Bahati during an empowerment program for senior citizens organized by area MP Irene Njoki and attended by Public Service CS Geoffrey Ruku, Nakuru MPS and MCAs.
