Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has effected changes in various departments.
The changes aim at enhancing service delivery.
Several Chief Officers have transitioned into new roles to continue enhancing service delivery to the people.
The changes affected Departments of Health, Public Service, Environment, Agriculture, Finance and infrastructure.
In the Health Department, Chief Officer Joyce Ncece has moved from Public Health to the Department of Public Service, where she will serve as Chief Officer for Disaster Management. During a hand over ceremony attended by County Executive for Health Roselyn Mungai and the County Health Management Team, Ms. Ncece was praised for her transformative work in public health, particularly her focus on preventive and promotive health initiatives. Taking over her role is Chief Officer John Mrima.
The Department of Water, Environment, Energy, Climate Change, and Natural Resources has also welcomed Chief Officer Stella Mwaura. Previously serving as the Chief Officer for Lands, she now takes on the role of Chief Officer for Environment, replacing Ken Mungai, who has moved to the Department of Infrastructure as the Chief Officer for Roads.
Eng. Margaret Kinyanjui has moved to the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Veterinary Services, where she was handed her new responsibilities by former Chief Officer Newton Mwaura. Eng. Kinyanjui who will now serve as Chief Officer Agriculture, has committed to building on her predecessor’s achievements and advancing flagship projects to benefit farmers across Nakuru County.
The Department of Finance has also seen a change in leadership. Alice Abuki, the former Chief Officer for Resource Mobilization, has handed over her role to the newly sworn-in Chief Officer Victor Mwandale Achoka. Additionally, the department has recieved Samwel Ndegwa as the new Chief Officer for Finance.
These changes aim to accelerate the implementation of key development projects for the residents of Nakuru.
