Term 2 Schools’ opening dates have been postponed by 1 week.
Schools will now open on May 6 and not April 29 and was initially as per the academic calendar 2024.
Education Cabinet Secretary Dr.Ezekiel Machogu says the decision was reached after a team constituted to asses the situation in various parts of the country indicated that most schools had been adversely affected by the ongoing heavy downpour.
The ongoing heavy rains have caused floods affecting most of the schools in the country.
All primary and secondary schools will now be opened on Monday May 6, 2024.
