Goodnews to farmers as county commences last-mile distribution of subsidized fertilizer

Farmers in Nakuru county have a reason to smile, following county government’s move to distribute last-mile subsidized fertilizer.

Governor Susan Kihika says, the move will see all the stores across the county receive the input in readiness for the planting season.

“We have once again commenced the distribution of subsidized fertilizer to various stores across the county,” she stated.

On Monday February 19, the fertilizer was delivered to Keringet Social Hall and Kiptororo Cereals Board store in Kuresoi North and Kuresoi South Sub-counties.

According to Kihika, this is in line with her commitment towards last-mile distribution.

“This is in line with my commitment to ensure the last-mile distribution of subsidized fertilizer to approved depots in the county happens before the planting season,” she said.

Kihika added that her administration is focused on providing farmers with an easier access to fertilizers while reducing logistical costs.
