Gikuyu elders slam at those purpoting to be elders

Gikuyu Council of Elders and Kiama Kia Ma Cultural Association have come out strongly to condemn some elders whom they termed as ‘Commercial ‘ for purporting to speak and work for the Gikuyu community.
Addressing media in Nakuru on Thursday led by their National chair Kimani Maigua, the elders condmen the careless talk spearheaded by those purporting to be elders and trying to bring division between the President and his Deputy.
The elders added that they fully support the President aand his deputy working together for the unity of the Nation.
They once again called on GEMA and the National Council of Elders to advice Kenyans on who they recognize and are mandated and qualified to speak on behalf of the Gikuyu,Embu Meru and Mbeere Communities in vorder to end the protracted mis-information from pseudo elders.
“As elders we are greatly disturbed and irked by some commercial elders who purport and pretend to speak for Gikuyu community.They carelessly talk trying to divide the President and his Deputy something that we will not accept as elders. We are calling on GEMA to come and help address this mis-information from the pseudo Elders” said Maigua.
His sentiments were echoed by Kigochi Waimiri-the National Chairman Kiama Kia Ma Cultural Association.
Waimiri slammed at those going around with messages of dividing the Jubilee leadership and the good working relationship between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy.
He said Peace was paramount for the economic development of the nation and thus leaders should shun the divisive politics.
“We want to condemn those going around with messages of trying to divide the Jubilee leadership. They should know that without peace we are headed nowhere but we need peace and unity for development” he said.
On the issue that happened in Parliament on Tuesday, the Gikuyu Council of Elders and Kiama Kia Ma Cultural Association called on the Luo Council of Elders to render an apology on behalf of Hon.Millie Odhiambo within 7 days lest they take a stern action against the MP for insulting the President.
They said the leadership of the day should be respected at all times.
Jubilee Party Chairman Nakuru county David Manyara who was also at the Press Conference said Jubilee Party was united and will not allow any leader that is about to create disharmony.
He warned Bahati MP Onesmus Kimani Ngunjiri to avoid side shows that are intended to tint the party image.
“I want to warn one of the leaders who is Kimani Ngunjiri that let him keep off the Jubilee affairs.Jubilee is united and we are ready for work, let him come we work together or he keeps off” he said.
They were speaking after holding a consultative Elders’ meeting in Nakuru.
