First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto has called on parents to support initiatives aimed at welfare of their children.

Speaking in Rongai Constituency in Nakuru County, the First Lady was categorical that children have a right to conducive environment.
“As parents we need to safeguard the support given to ensure our children are having conducive environment for learning,” she stated.
She also called on farmers to embrace subsidized fertilizer to boost food production.
Mama Rachael who was accompanied by Nakuru Deputy Governor David Kones ,CS Ann Cheptuma and Rongai MP Paul Mamba Chebor on Wednesday, distributed school uniforms to learners at Testai Comprehensive School fulfilling a promise she made during her previous visit.
The initiative comes after earlier donations of shoes and the launch of the National Mama Kitchen Garden Initiative and National School Milk Programme at the school.

DG Kones who represented Governor Susan Kihika, noted that the gesture complements county interventions such as the uji feeding programme, distribution of age-appropriate ECDE furniture, and bursaries for needy students.
