Talanta Stadium, which boasts a seating capacity of 60,000, is drawing global attention after world-renowned streamer IShowSpeed mentioned it during his livestream.
This coming even before its official opening.
During an aerial tour of Nairobi, the striking Talanta Stadium caught the attention of the 21-year-old celebrity, who is on a 28-day African tour.
He gave the facility a thumbs-up, describing it as “amazing” and “good-looking.”
The flamboyant streamer, who hit a record 48 million subscribers on his YouTube channel during the aerial tour, said: “Look at the stadium, bro. That is a good-looking stadium; it is amazing. Oh, that is a stadium there? Are they making it now? It is not even done? Oh, Talanta Stadium?”
One of the largest stadiums in Africa, Talanta Stadium is set to host matches for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

A flagship project of President William Ruto, the stadium’s construction is expected to be completed in less than two months.
It will be recalled that recently, the Head of State described Talanta Stadium as an iconic project that will redefine Kenya’s sporting profile and position the nation as a global
sports powerhouse.
“We are investing in sports and talent development so that our youth can monetise their skills and expertise. The ongoing upgrading of our facilities will turn Kenya into a global sports powerhouse and make the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations a memorable event,” President Ruto said in March 2024.
Kenya Tourism Board Chief Executive Officer June Chepkemei added that the stadium is a major boost to the country’s sports tourism initiatives.
“Talanta Stadium is fast becoming a defining landmark for Nairobi and a powerful catalyst for Kenya’s sports tourism,” she said.
Dubbed Talanta Sports City, the complex includes three additional professional pitches for football, rugby, and athletics.
Chepkemei emphasised that while Kenya is globally known for its safaris, wildlife, and the Big Five, the nation also offers rich culture, vibrant cities, and captivating urban life.
“Visitors are experiencing a new Kenya: dynamic, progressive, confident, inclusive, and full of possibility, a first-world Kenya in the making,” she said.
Escorted by energetic fans, IShowSpeed declared Kenya his number-one destination, noting that the experience will remain in his memory for a long time.
He described the country as the “craziest so far,” referring to the enthusiasm that greeted him on arrival.
IShowSpeed has already visited South Africa, Zambia, Eswatini, Angola, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Rwanda.
He is expected to continue his tour in Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Liberia, and Nigeria, showcasing Africa’s positive stories in an authentic, engaging way.
