Drama as two factions clash over Njoro-Egerton Safaris Sacco stage

There was drama at Nakuru’s CBD Njoro-Egerton Safaris Sacco matatu terminus on Thursday following a push and pull between two factions.

This saw transport services paralyzed with passengers watching helplessly as the two factions engaged in spit and spat.

The drama began after matatu owners sensed that their defiant Sacco employees threatened to take control and management of the stage.

Addressing media, Nakuru Touts and stage Managers Victor Kamau Kariuki said they parted ways with Njoro-Egerton Safaris Sacco after exploitation by the top management and wanted part of the stage to operate for themselves.

“We parted ways with Njoro-Egerton Safaris Sacco after exploitation by the top management and we wanted part of the stage to operate for ourselves” said Kariuki.

However, the Sacco Managing Director Francis Mwaura in an interview said the defiant group was thrown out of the Sacco due to mismanagement of funds and they have zero shares in the Sacco apart from being employees.

Mwaura said they will not allow division in their terminus having complied with NTSA and County government stage regulations.

“The defiant group was thrown out of the Sacco due to mismanagement of funds and they have zero shares. We will not allow division in their terminus having complied with NTSA and County government stage regulations” he said.

This even as other workers revealed that the defiant group of workers has formed a gang aimed at taking over the stage management yet they do not have any matatu that operates there.

The fracas brought transport to a standstill until county government officers intervened with the police to throw out the defiant group which had hired goons to accelerate the fracas.

However, matatu owners and Sacco’s have called upon the County Government of Nakuru to bring sanity in the regulations of business within town where illegal gangs have started forming as Matatu and Touts operators to oppress genuine investors in the CBD.
