Nakuru Senatorial Aspirant Dr Peter Mbae has called on security apparatus to respect Freedom of Association as enshrined in the Constitution.
In a press release, Mbae stated that political formations are in order and every Kenyan should be allowed to associate with whichever political formation he or she feels it fits.
He noted that on Sunday, July 20, Nakuru DCP leaders hosted the first ever visit by DCP National leaders in Subukia/Bahati but faced intimidation since morning and later attacked on the way by security officers.
Mbae who is also Secretary Planning and Economic Affairs at DCP, was categorical that over the weekend, a Nakuru pro-government team, including County Government leadership and nine MPs, met and unveiled their political line-up for 2027 amidst subsequent political mobilisation.
He added that on Monday July 28, a follow-up of the weekend meeting was held by the pro-government team, including eight MPs with Bahati residents.
The former Kabazi MCA maintained that as DCP, they embrace the tenets of Peace and Inclusivity*l as hallmarks in Nakuru County.
“We pride in our diversity and respect everyone’s right to the share of the county cake. I, thus, welcome the action by the pro-government leaders to announce their political line-up for 2027,” he stated.
Dr Mbae who has academic l background in matters communication as well as peace and reconciliation, called for freedom of expression and freedom of association, for everyone to join the political association of their choice and called upon the security officers to observe and protect these rights.
He urged Nakuru residents to refuse to be drawn to profile or hate their neighbours because of political affiliation.
“We should vote peacefully on August 10, 2027 and go back to our businesses on August 11,” he stated.
He also used the moment on behalf of the organising team to thank the residents of Subukia and Bahati for the awesome reception they accorded DCP team and assured the rest of the county that all areas will be covered in subsequent trips by the national leaders, soon.
Mbae urged DCP supporters to be steadfast, focused and firm.
According to him, the party is looking to field credible candidates in all the electable positions, and is committed to winning the majority of these seats during the 2027 elections, adding that DCP believes in the power of God and the power of the people!
