Dr. Kinity: Recycling of bad leaders has costed Kenyans

Recycling of bad leaders has continued to cost Kenyans.

Former Kenya Civil Servants Union Secretary General Dr Isaac Newton Kinity says the challenges facing Kenya is due to the bad leadership.

According to the former Unionist, the recycling of the same leaders who have been responsible for the political and economic ruins in Kenya is absolutely what has sustained the impunity that is rooted deep in Kenya.

He added that, even historically there are no political practices from past regimes that can help Kenya.

“There are no political practices from any of the past administrations in Kenya that would be used to help liberate Kenyans from the current unbearable situation,” he stated.

Dr. Kinity who has been vocal on matters advocating for good governance argues that since 1978, when Jomo Kenyatta died, politicians have always nominated their fellow political friends from the previous administrations to run for president of Kenya, in the guise of having someone with political experience to run the country better.

He added that surprisingly, all those past administrations in Kenya, including the current administration, were all involved in land grabbing, political murders, extra judicial killings, and looting of public funds.

“The victims of acute suffering, agony, and suppression out of the mess created by successive Kenyan presidents have always been the small children, their mothers, the elderly, and the youth,” he stated.

He challenged Kenyans not to expect any kind of political experience from those who served in those past corrupt regimes in Kenya.

According to the former Unionist, if looting of public funds, land grabbing, extra judicial killings, killing of the existing businesses have been the common activities, in all administrations, then there are no benefits Kenyans can expect to gain from those who have tirelessly looted all they could from the public coffers.

While noting that all Kenyans, including those in businesses, pay taxes, part of which is used to pay salaries to the police for protection, Dr. Kinity was categorical that the business community in Kenya and investors require protection and support from the government in order to create more jobs, but not extortion of the money they make by corrupt powerful politicians.

“Businesses create jobs. Killing businesses is killing job opportunities. Kenyans in businesses are losing millions to corrupt politicians, who give them sleepless nights and deny them the opportunities to expand their businesses, which would create jobs for the youth. What would those who served in the past regimes offer to Kenyans, except silencing those who challenge them once they are installed in power?. Why haven’t Kenyans learned anything from their past mistakes of recycling corrupt leaders in all past regimes, who have continued to fail Kenya, every election cycle?,” he questioned.

According to him, the mindset of a politically experienced Kenyan to lead the nation is absurdity because it is what has cost the Kenyan workers poor pay, unemployment for the youth, and the losses of revenue by the Kenyan farmers.

He faulted Kenyans home and the Kenyans abroad for underrating themselves to the extent of allowing those same leaders who have been looting public funds to regroup themselves as usual in every election cycle, to identify one of their own to lead Kenya.

Dr. Kinity challenged youth to be more vigilant as they had succeeded in taking over the government in June 2024, but the government slipped off from their hands because they failed to identify a leader prior to taking over the parliament.

According to Kinity, what the GenZs need is just a leader.

“Taking over the parliament has always and often been considered taking over the government. No revolution in the world ever succeeded without a leader. In that regard, I consider Gen Z to have slipped over, but they never fell down. Slipping is not falling down. It is possible they can make it again, and with a leader, they would be assured of total success,” he stated.

The former Unionist challenged youth to up in fighting for good leadership in the country by taking up positions.
