According to Kindiki, the works will involve ensuring a climbing lane and an extra lane for escape in case of impending head-on.

The DP revealed that next week, engineers from the National Government Ministry of Roads and Transport will be on the ground to assess and develop designs.
“Our engineers are directed to be on the ground to assess the area and develop designs to save lives and reduce deaths on our roads,” he said.
The DP also added that the Rironi-Mau Summit Road Dual carriage will commence on July 1, 2025, and will be one of President William Ruto’s signature projects.
He said this would help save lives at Kinungi, Gilgil, and Salgaa and spur the economy of Nakuru County and the Rift Valley Region through job creation for locals.
In addition, SGR 2B and SGR 2C will now extend from Naivasha to Eldoret and Baringo as well as Narok to Bomet and Nyamira to Kisumu towards Uganda.
Kindiki also used the moment to call on all contractors who have been given government projects to expedite and ensure timely completion.
“We shall not allow lazy contractors derailing development,” he stated.
The immediate Interior Cabinet Secretary also used the moment to assure Molo residents that the government is working to ensure that vehicles are at every police station and post.
He was responding to a request by Molo MP Kuria Kimani over the lack of vehicles in the Elburgon Police post.
“Regarding the lack of police vehicles, as raised by MP Kimani Kuria, we are waiting for the requisition of the vehicles, and we shall prioritize Elburgon,” he said.
The DP also addressed the land issue in Molo, urging leaders to work closely with the government to find an amicable solution.
According to him, as it worked in Bahati Constituency’s Dundori, so it should be in Molo, where people were displaced in 1998.
“The work of the leaders is to work in finding solutions to the people, not inciting them,” he said.
On politics, Kindiki slammed individuals he said were forming tribal parties to divide Kenyans along ethnic lines.
According to him, forming a political party is in order, but they should not be parties to divide Kenyans.
“Those who are forming political parties, there is no problem, but don’t form tribal politics to divide Kenyans,” he said.
According to the DP, a time for politics will come in 2027, and there will be a fair playground through a mature democracy, adding that the government development scorecard will speak.
He called out those advocating for political ethnicity, stating that they are harming the country.
During the service, Kindiki announced that he would purchase a new bus for Elburgon DEB Secondary School to improve transport.
Governor Susan Kihika had made the request.

Earlier on, Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika, who also graced the event, condoled the families, reiterating the County’s commitment to stand with the families who lost their loved ones through the accidents.

“It’s saddening to see many students who have lost their lives through accidents on this road. Perhaps your Excellency can help us lobby for a bus to help Elburgon DEB Secondary School students transport them home in the evening in honour of these lost souls. It will go a long way in addressing the road accidents claiming the students’ lives,” she said.
Kihika also used the moment to highlight the development projects for Elburgon and Molo.

She also brought to the attention of DP Kindiki the land issue in Molo.

According to Kihika, leaders need to sit with locals, adding that the land issue has been very emotive in the area since 1998, when there were displacements.
The County Boss also slammed the formation of Rigathi Gachagua’s political party, terming it a tribal formation.
“We are seeing some forming tribal parties and division. As a county, we are cosmopolitan, and we shall not allow such political divisions in our county and country,” she said.
Sentiments echoed by Molo MP Kimani Kuria.

The MP noted that Molo has scars of post-election violence since 1992 and cannot allow a comeback of the same.

“In Molo, we have no room for politics of division. We experienced the same in 1992, 1997, 2002 and 2007, and we said no to such again. The New party formed by Rigathi is tribal and aimed at dividing Kenyans,” he said.
These sentiments were echoed by Nakuru Woman Rep Liza Chelule, who noted that Politics of division have no room in the current dispensation in Nakuru and Kenya as a whole.
