The latest beneficiary is Kaloleni C estate where 12 units have undergone re-roofing.
According to area MCA Neto Sakwa, this is an ongoing project with aim to do away with asbestos that have been cited harmful to the health of the people.
“I take this opportunity to thank the County Government of Nakuru under the leadership of Governor Susan Kihika for enabling this project. By doing away with asbestos, we are safeguarding the lives of our people,” he stated.
The re-roofing project began during the first years of inception of devolution.
Currently in Kivumbini Ward, the only county houses remaining with asbestos are Kaloleni A, some units in Ojuka and one Unit in Kivumbini Police area near Nyumba ya wazee.
