Various health facilities in Nakuru have received a major boost from Dandelion Africa NGO.
The NGO that has been working with various county governments among them Nakuru and Baringo, this week supported a five-day training of healthcare workers drawn from 32 health facilities across Nakuru County.
The training focused Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC).
With this training, the participants are equipped with essential skills to manage childbirth emergencies, helping to reduce risks for mothers and newborns.
Dandelion Africa Executive Director Wendo Aszed lauded the program saying it will go long way in addressing risks for mothers and newborns.
Sentiments echoed by Nakuru County Chief executive for health Roslyne Mungai.
To strengthen emergency response, Dandelion Africa NGO also provided each facility with two Non-Pneumatic Anti-Shock Garments (NASGs).
The equipment will help control severe bleeding after childbirth and improve a mother’s chances of survival.
Additionally, the NGO supplied IEC materials to serve as reference tools and to support healthcare workers in educating mothers on safe pregnancy, delivery, and postnatal care
