CS Wandayi launches electrification projects in Molo

The government is committed towards electrification across the country.

Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi re-affirmed the same on Friday February 27, 2026, during the launch of electrification projects at Tegat/Saptet Village in Elburgon, Molo.

Accompanied by Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika, and Molo MP Kimani Kuria among other guests, the CS revealed that the National government has allocated Sh 3.2billion for the program in Nakuru County.

Speaking during the event, Governor Kihika commended the National Government for allocating the same for the electrification of 33,000 households in Nakuru County.

According to Kihika, the move has improved access to electricity in Nakuru County that now stands at 70 percent.

“Today, we launch projects worth Sh104 million targeting 855 households in Molo. Through this partnership, electricity access in Nakuru County has now reached 70 percent,” she said.

Kihika also used the occasion to highlight key development projects in Elburgon Ward.

They include the planned laying of cabro paving blocks in Elburgon Town, construction of a stage on Kenya Railways land in Elburgon Town, and the near completion of the Maternity Wing at Elburgon Hospital.

She added that grading and gravelling of roads under the Imarisha Barabara Program will begin next.

Kihika’s administration is also working with the area MP and MCA to implement water piping projects.

She encouraged groups and cooperatives to apply for low-interest loans under our Sh100 million Wezesha Fund.

Her administration, she pointed out that will soon launch the Sh30 million Boda Boda Fund to support boda boda operators.

Earlier in the day, the leaders handed over a three-classroom block at St Joseph’s Comprehensive School, constructed by the Kenya Pipeline Company Foundation.

Later, they commissioned three additional classrooms at St. James Comprehensive School built by the area MP.
