Boda boda operators in Molo Nakuru County have decried increased insecurity in the area and are now living in fear.
Speaking following the attack on one of them at Kibunja forest, the operators said that criminals have been targeting them after pretending to be customers only for them to turn against them.
They said that last year alone, about 19 incidents were reported in the area.
The operators lamented that most of them have lost motorbikes but despite such acts being reported to police only few arrests have been made.
While calling on the police to beef up security and intensify patrols in the area, the operators termed the recent attack on Paul Osman as unfortunate.
Osman suffered wounds inflicted on him by a passenger whom he carried from Rongai town only for him to descend on him with a panga upon reaching Kibunja forest area on Sunday.
Kibunja forest has had a history of being a hide out for criminals who have taken advantage of the unrepaired 4 kilometers section of road between Kibunja town and Molo.
