County comes to aid of commercial sex workers with relief food

308 members of the Smart Ladies Organization benefited from COVID-19 relief food distributed by the County Government of Nakuru.
They also got 6 facemasks each.
The ladies drawn from Nakuru town CBD ,Kanu street area ,Pipeline and Nakuru town west each got 5kg of beans ,5kg of rice ,1 bar soap ,1kg of cooking oil and 1kg of maize flour.
Director Political Affairs Madam Beatrice Nyawira led the county team in the initiative.
She thanked them for their unity of purpose which they have demonstrated all along and informed them that the County administration has purposed to help them in short courses and technical proficiency in hairdressing, catering classes, computer literacy and agricultural development such as rearing of chicken .
They will also benefit from hygiene programme courtesy of the County department of Public health .
Her sentiments were echoed by the Youth Empowerment advisor to the Governor Sir Paul Ndirangu who informed them of the streamlining of the empowerment programme to suit their timelines.
The Smart ladies Chairperson Daisy Achieng thanked the County administration for their good gesture and further commended the County enforcement officers for being friendly to their members.
Smart ladies comprises of commercial sex workers operating within Nakuru town and its environs.
